Home » The Top Three Golf Clubs in South Africa

It is easy to see why and how South Africa is called “a world in one country”, considering its stunning capital city and unique regions with varied cultures and features. The Western Cape is well known for its wineries and Boulders Beach, while the Eastern Cape is famous for unrivaled golf clubs. To genuinely experience South Africa’s breathtaking scenery, golfers should explore the following golf clubs in South Africa:

  • Little Walmer Golf Club

One of the first golf clubs in South Africa was established in 1897 at what is now known as Little Walmer Golf Club in Port Elizabeth. There are 18 tees to choose from on this nine-hole course. Walmer Golf Club is located in a brand-new golfing development, with 18 holes that will test golfers of all skill levels. The 127-meter par-3 sixth hole is most famous because a poor tee shot will result in a splash in the pond surrounding the green.

  • Modderfontein Golf Club

Modderfontein, a demanding parkland course, has hosted several significant amateur competitions. The route may be extended beyond 6,500 meters from the points. You have a difficult golf task when considering the many water hazards present on more than half the holes on the board. The course’s total par is 72, and holes are split into two returning nines, each beginning with a par five.

  • Emfuleni Golf Club

The Emfuleni Golf Club boasts beautiful views of the South African environment and its flora because of its fantastic location. Visitors are welcome to play here in Johannesburg, which is approximately 45 minutes away by car. The bent greens and kikuyu fairways provide a welcoming escape from city life. Although there is always a golf season, the club is closed on Mondays. Visitors are urged to reserve lodging in Vanderbijlpark and tee times well in advance to prevent disappointment.
