A hydraulic press machine is a mechanical device that works on Pascal’s principle to lift heavier forces with smaller ones. It has a hydraulic system that includes a master hydraulic cylinder and piston, as well as a pump and hydraulic accumulator.

Stretch forming

The stretch forming process is used to bend metal sheets and extrusions into complex, three-dimensional shapes. It is ideal for producing curved or contoured parts, such as aircraft fuselage sections and automotive body panels. It can also be used to create architectural components like curved façades. This forming process can be performed either hot or cold, depending on the material being formed.

The process begins with a flat sheet of metal that is clamped tightly around a mandrel or form. Then, the metal is stretched using a hydraulic press machine, and it becomes molded to the desired shape. The stretching action minimizes the likelihood of surface damage and distortion, making it a good choice for delicate materials such as aluminum or stainless steel. The forming machine consists of a main frame that supports two arms (or carriage beams) and a positionable carriage equipped with a gripper jaw and hydraulic tension cylinder. The jaws grip the ends of the part blank and stretch it to a point beyond the yield point.

 

Compacting

A hydraulic press is used to compact various materials into smaller forms, such as metal pieces and scraps. Recycling centers use them to compact trash into bales for shipping and storage, and traditional garbage dumps also use them to save space. This type of machine offers a number of advantages over mechanical presses. Its low initial price and minimal operating costs make it a popular choice for industrial applications.
